My name is Julie Svare and I’d like to introduce my new album, Old Redmonto.
Now, you might wonder what is or where is “Old Redmonto”?
There is a little town in the state of Utah, called Redmond. My Dad was raised in Redmond, Utah. And in Redmond, there was a great outdoor dance venue that existed during the mid-20th century, when dancing was a part of the American culture.
After my Dad met my Mom in Salt Lake City, they spent time during their courtship and after their marriage, attending different dance venues. One of those venues was “Redmonto”. So the Al and Gert mentioned in the tune Old Redmonto are my folks, and this tune is a whimsical tribute to them.
I’m new to songwriting, but I have been a vocalist and instrumentalist my entire life. My tunes on Old Redmonto reflect some of my personal experiences and some of my observations of people around me. I hope you enjoy listening to the album. I’m on many platforms, including YouTube, Spotify, Apple, and others.
If you have questions about lyrics, please feel free to contact me through this website. I appreciate people listening to my music.
It’s meant to be fun and lighthearted, as well as expressing my Faith in the final tune My Dear Redeemer Lives, which I wrote for a very dear friend when she was very ill.
I had a great deal of fun creating this album, and I hope you’ll enjoy them all!!
Julie
